News: BOLTS Meeting In Dubai

The International Light Rail and Tram Benchmarking Group (BOLTS) met for the second in-person meeting in 2025, in the city of Dubai, UAE, hosted by one of the group’s newest members, Dubai Tram, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

The meeting sessions focused on a combination of benchmarking analysis for the group, member organisation updates, themed insights and structured discussions around topics of strategic and technical importance to BOLTS members, such as financial performance and new revenue streams, fare evasion and technological advancements to monitor and mitigate it, customer service and satisfaction, and flexible working opportunities for staff.

The meeting was hosted in RTA’s new Innovation Lab located in the Al-Sufouh Tram Depot. Discussions were followed by a visit to Dubai Tram facilities, including the OCC, maintenance offices, maintenance workshop, rolling stock maintenance buildings, and tram stabling area.

Many thanks to Dubai RTA for their hospitality, and to BOLTS members for coming together and exchanging knowledge and best practices!

BOLTS is actively growing its membership. If your organisation is interested in attending the next BOLTS meeting as an observer, or wants further information about BOLTS or the TSC, please get in touch using the Contacts page.
